History of Busicom

Busicom Solutions was established in 2004 as privately owned company supplying unskilled and skilled labour to the Australian Industrial Sector.

Through our experience in the industry and feedback from clients, we observed the productivity impact of a poor quality workforce and recognised the need for better and more consistent quality in the skill levels of welders and other skilled engineering tradesmen. We also identified a strong need for Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs among companies who engaged in Welding.

As a result of these insights, Busicom embarked on a strategy to evolve from a labour hire agency into a specialist provider of Welding Services.

Busicom Solutions was established as a supplier of qualified and tested Welders and other Engineering Personnel. Busicom Inspections and Training (BITS) was founded to offer organisations accredited Welding Inspection Programs.

This business strategy involved bringing a high level of welding expertise in-house, the deployment of new systems and technology, re-evaluating processes and procedures and implementing stronger focus on quality as well as OHS&E systems. A key component of this strategy was the launch of the inspections and training facility. Through this fully equipped facility in Kingsgrove NSW, we conduct practical testing of tradesmen, welder qualification and the development of weld procedures.

Our facility is staffed by our team of Welding Inspectors and Supervisors who are accredited to provide 3rd party Welding Inspections, Welding Procedure Qualification Record (WPQR), Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Welding Procedure Qualification (WPQ).

Our commitment to creating new industry benchmarks for the provision of Welders and Welding Services in Australia, will drive the Busicom Group into its next phase of growth. In order to address the misalignment between the high demand for skilled welders and the short supply of suitable candidates for these roles, Busicom Inspections and Training is working on achieving Registered Training Organisation (RTO) status.  It is expected that we will be accredited to offer Welding Skillset Training to students in 2015. Through our training program, we will have the opportunity to increase the competency of Welding Operators. This will provide our students with strong career opportunities and our clients with better quality teams and increased productivity.
